The 2019 Jeep Cherokee comes standard with the signature 2.4L Tigershark® MultiAir 2 engine that is mated with a 9-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain combination produces 180 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque.

The next available engine is the 3.2L Pentastar® V6, which comes standard on the Jeep TrailHawk trim level and the other three above it. This engine option has the most horsepower with 271.

The 2.0L Turbo engine is available on all Cherokee trim levels except for the base Latitude trim. It brings a boosted torque of 295 lb-ft to the table that comes in handy when traveling on steep or rocky terrain and when hauling your boat or motorcycle somewhere for the weekend.

Any 2019 Jeep Cherokee with standard front-wheel drive has a maximum towing capacity of 2,000 pounds, while any model equipped with the available Jeep® Active Drive I or II 4x4 System has an impressive maximum tow capacity of 4,500 pounds.

Off-Roading Capability

If you really want to get the most of the outdoors, the 2019 Jeep Cherokee offers the available Jeep® Active Drive I and II 4x4 System or the Jeep® Active Drive Lock 4x4 System. These three impressive 4x4 Systems allow you to take on any road, weather, or off-road conditions with complete confidence.

The Jeep® Active Drive I include a rear axle disconnect and standard Brake Lock Differential for better off-road efficiency. The Jeep® Active Drive II comes with everything that the Active Drive offers but adds a low range and Neutral Mode. The 4WD Low Mode is great for extra low-speed traction while the Neutral Mode enables available flat towing behind an RV.

The 4x4 systems utilize the Jeep Selec-Terrain® Traction Management System that gives the driver the ability to switch between five accurately tuned driving modes including: Auto, Sport, Snow, Sand/Mud and available Rock to effectively conquer anything mother nature throws at you.  

The available Jeep® Active Drive Lock 4x4 System comes as a package with the Jeep® Active Drive II that is standard on the Trail Rated® Trailhawk and Trailhawk Elite. This 4x4 System includes a mechanical rear axle lock and adds the Rock driving mode to the Jeep Selec-Terrain® Traction Management System.

Comfortable Interior

The interior of the 2019 Jeep Cherokee has added more space thanks to updated design. It offers an impressive total passenger volume of 128 cubic feet and a 24.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats.    

The supportive and comfortable bucket seats come standard with premium cloth but have available Nappa or perforated leather-trimmed seating on higher trim levels.

In terms of infotainment, it comes standard with a Uconnect® 4 7-inch touchscreen that includes Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ and much more!
